Phase 1

We had to start with friendly waters first (2016-2018). First inertial system full body swimming motion data was in hand (March 2018).

Phase 2

Next we had to tackle the scary territory of saltwater inertial system data acquisition (2018-2022). First full body saltwater swimming motion data was in hand by Sep 2019 but COVID stopped everything and only in 2023 the project resumed momentum.

Phase 3

Finally we were able to gather enough data to get into the science of surfing and start creating a user interface that let surfer know how they were doing and how might they be able to pave the way for better performance.
